Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.)<\/span><\/a> had a blunt response about the pending release of the<\/span> Jeffrey Epstein<\/span><\/a> files, and he doesn\u2019t seem concerned about any fallout for the Democratic Party.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n After <\/span>President Donald Trump<\/span><\/a> posted on Truth Social<\/span><\/a> that he had signed off on the bill that will allow all the Epstein documents to be released, celebrity.land\u2019s John Berman asked Murphy on Thursday his thoughts.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Berman specifically wanted to know if Murphy was worried the documents might reveal the names of even more Democrats beyond former<\/span> President Bill Clinton<\/span><\/a> and former Harvard professor and <\/span>Treasury Secretary Larry Summers.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cWhat if there are more names connected to the Democratic Party that come out as a result of this?\u201d Berman asked Murphy.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Murphy had a blunt two-word response: \u201cSo what!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The senator then conceded, saying<\/span>, \u201cI\u2019m sure that there are Democrats in those files. There are Republicans in those files. There are, you know, Wall Street executives who have no political affiliation. What we want is to understand who was involved in this.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Trump\u2019s slow-roll of the files\u2019 release is not because he\u2019s \u201cselfless,\u201d or trying to \u201c[protect] his friends,\u201d Murphy said, before adding,<\/span> \u201cit stands to reason that [Trump] he\u2019s very much connected to this scandal,\u201d but admitted \u201cwe may or may not know the extent of that, because it could be that the president is going to try to find a way to redact any information connected to him from those files.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Murphy then reiterated that to him, \u201cit just doesn\u2019t matter the political affiliation. The law is the law.
