\u201cDaily Show<\/a>\u201d correspondent Ronny Chieng<\/a> was stunned on Wednesday by how fast the House passed a bill to force the release of the Jeffrey Epstein<\/a> files, and predicted that the Senate would have a \u201cplan to drag this thing out.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n However, the Senate unanimously approved the bill despite House Speaker Mike Johnson<\/a>\u2019s expectation that the upper chamber would amend it, an effort that would\u2019ve seen the bill returned to the House.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Moments after celebrating the Senate as a place where \u201clegislation and senators go to die,\u201d Chieng appeared stunned by the bill\u2019s swift passage.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cWait what? Whoa, whoa, whoa, hang on \u2014 wait, how \u2014 how the fuck did it pass this fast?! I thought a bill in the Senate had to go through amendments and committees and floor votes and Mitch McConnell\u2019s neck folds,\u201d he quipped. \u201cAnd they have to add some unrelated earmarks that somehow make Lindsey Graham millions of dollars. Like, how did they get around all that?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cWait, you can do that? Unanimous consent? Well then, why don\u2019t you do that with every bill?\u201d Chieng asked. \u201cI mean, does it only work on bills with Epstein\u2019s name?
