Stephen Soderbergh has completed his still-untitled documentary centered on John Lennon<\/a>\u2019s final interview which he describes as \u201can incredible historical document\u201d that is \u201ceven more relevant today\u201d than it was 45 years ago on the fateful day of December 8, 1980, when Lennon<\/a> was killed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m excited about it,\u201d Soderbergh said, speaking at the inaugural Doha Film Festival where his latest film \u201cThe Christophers<\/a>\u201d is launching internationally after premiering in Toronto.<\/p>\n

Given the interview\u2019s historical importance, the job is to present the doc \u201cin such a way that it enhances the interview and doesn\u2019t distract from it,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m not looking to re-invent the form. I\u2019m just hoping to create a film that gets as many people as possible to hear what John and Yoko had to say on that afternoon before he was killed,\u201d Soderbergh noted.<\/p>\n
