{"id":2170542,"date":"2025-11-21T15:36:39","date_gmt":"2025-11-21T15:36:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2170542"},"modified":"2025-11-21T15:36:39","modified_gmt":"2025-11-21T15:36:39","slug":"tiny-desk-concert-npr","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/tiny-desk-concert-npr\/","title":{"rendered":"Tiny Desk Concert : NPR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"storytext\">\n<p>When <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/artists\/14948832\/robert-plant\" target=\"_blank\"><u>Robert Plant<\/u><\/a> first stepped behind the Tiny Desk on a blustery Halloween afternoon, he took stock of the relatively stripped-down setup. &#8220;This is just like Live Aid,&#8221; he said with a smile. &#8220;I couldn&#8217;t hear myself there either.&#8221; He was referring to the fact we don&#8217;t amplify voices or use monitors so artists can hear themselves.<\/p>\n<p>But if ever there was someone up to the challenge, it&#8217;s Robert Plant. With a voice that&#8217;s only gotten better with age, Plant has deftly moved from the full-throated rock and swagger of <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/artists\/15396553\/led-zeppelin\" target=\"_blank\"><u>Led Zeppelin<\/u><\/a> to the more restrained and profoundly beautiful folk, blues and roots music found on more recent recordings. His latest solo album,<em> Saving Grace<\/em>, is a collection of covers that range from the traditional spiritual &#8220;Gospel Plough&#8221; to &#8220;It&#8217;s A Beautiful Day Today&#8221; by <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/artists\/17498796\/moby-grape\" target=\"_blank\"><u>Moby Grape<\/u><\/a>, a psychedelic rock band that, Plant says, still makes him &#8220;weepy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<aside id=\"ad-backstage-wrap\" class=\"ad-wrap backstage\" aria-label=\"advertisement\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Plant and his band perform both songs for this set, along with a version of &#8220;Higher Rock&#8221; by the singer-songwriter <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/artists\/93829598\/martha-scanlan\" target=\"_blank\"><u>Martha Scanlan<\/u><\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/artists\/16700848\/low\" target=\"_blank\"><u>Low<\/u><\/a>&#8216;s &#8220;Everybody&#8217;s Song.&#8221;
