Meghan Trainor is opening up about the health scare that sparked the start of her passion for fitness and led to her losing 60 pounds.<\/p>\n
The \u201cStill Don\u2019t Care\u201d singer, 31, recently told Los Angeles\u2019 104.3 MYfm that developing gestational diabetes while pregnant with her second child<\/a> was a pivotal moment in her \u201cfitness journey.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been on a fitness journey since I got healthy. It started with when I was pregnant and I had gestational diabetes,\u201d said Trainor, who shares sons Riley, 4, and Barry, 2, with husband Daryl Sabara<\/a>. \u201cI was like, \u2018Oh, I\u2019ve got to learn about health and fitness if I want to tour forever. I\u2019ve got to be at my strongest if I want to lift up my kids from their crib and not pull out my back.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Now, the \u201cAll About That Bass\u201d singer, who has also been open about using the GLP-1 medication Mounjaro<\/a>, said she strength trains three times<\/a> a week and is \u201cfocused on health\u201d in general.<\/p>\n \u201cNow I\u2019m obsessed with like how\u2019s my hormones? How\u2019s my gut? Because I just want to feel good, because this job is hard to do if you don\u2019t feel good,\u201d Trainor explained.<\/p>\n One thing the Grammy winner has been \u201crattled\u201d by is the criticism she\u2019s faced<\/a> for losing weight and for using a GLP-1. <\/p>\n \u201cI got a lot of hate for being thinner,\u201d Trainor confessed, adding, \u201cIt\u2019s weird\u2014I\u2019m finally so proud of myself and starting to love myself, and I\u2019ve never gotten more hate. I was confused, lost, really sad and heartbroken that I took care of myself but everyone\u2019s angry.\u201d<\/p>\n
