Jane Fonda is shocked she\u2019s made it to 87.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, November 19, The Grace and Frankie star<\/a> joined Michelle Obama<\/a> on her IMO podcast for a conversation on no regrets and aging. Despite making her Hollywood debut at just 22 years old, Jane calls herself a \u201clate bloomer.\u201d She opened up about how her \u201cyouth was not especially happy.\u201d Jane lost her mother, Frances Ford Seymour, at 12 years old.<\/p>\n

During her 20s, she turned to drugs, causing a dark time in her life. The actress explained, \u201cI\u2019m not addicted, but I thought I was going to die from drugs and loneliness.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t think I\u2019d live past 30,\u201d the actress added. \u201cSo the fact that I\u2019m almost 88 is astonishing to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite making some questionable decisions in her youthful years, she \u201cwouldn\u2019t go back for anything,” confessing, \u201cI feel more centered, more whole, more complete. I\u2019m very happy, single.”<\/p>\n

Jane does not plan on slowing down anytime soon, revealing, \u201cI\u2019m not done.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been living to not have regrets,\u201d she mentioned.<\/p>\n

Jane first made her Hollywood<\/a> debut at 22 years old whens he starred in 1960 romantic comedy Tall Story. She has gone to star in several hit films like Barefoot in the Park, Monster-in-Law and 9 to 5. 12 years after stepping into the spotlight, she won her first Academy Award for the thriller film Klute, which she led alongside Donald Sutherland and Roy Scheider.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, she was recognized for the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.<\/p>\n

Along with her impact on the entertainment industry, she has also proven to be a prominent figure in political activism. Since the 1960s, she has supported various causes like the Civil Rights Movement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
