Kameron Marlowe<\/a> is turning up the heat with the release of his brand-new single, \u201cFire On The Hillside<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n The fierce tune follows a scorned lover who learns that his partner has been unfaithful. In a small town where word spreads fast, the rumors prove true when he returns home and can smell another man\u2019s cologne lingering in the air.\u00a0<\/p>\n As expected, the betrayal hits hard. Instead of suffering in silence, he decides to \u201clight it up and burn it down,\u201d both figuratively and possibly literally.<\/p>\n \u201cLight it up and burn it down\/ Leave nothing but some ashes on the ground\/ Hell, you might even see it from the state line\/ Tonight I\u2019m gonna start me a fire on the hillside,\u201d he sings on the fiery chorus.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2018Fire on the Hillside\u2019 is about what happens when a small-town rumor gets out of control,\u201d Marlowe explains. \u201cWhere I\u2019m from, folks talk and sometimes that talk burns hotter than any match. It\u2019s a story about heartbreak, anger, and letting the smoke roll on something you can\u2019t take back. I wanted it to feel like you could smell the diesel and hear the crackle before it all goes up.\u201d<\/p>\n Marlowe wrote the song alongside producer Austin Goodloe and Carson Wallace. Sonically, \u201cFire On The Hillside\u201d pushes Marlowe into heavier territory with guitar-driven production, though his signature baritone voice remains front and center.<\/p>\n Known as one of the strongest live vocalists in Nashville, Marlowe admits this track marks new territory for him but says he\u2019s ready for fans to hear what he\u2019s been working on.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s definitely a little different than what people are used to. It\u2019s going to be rocking,\u201d he shared while speaking with Country Now at the BMI Country Awards on Tuesday. \u201cI\u2019m putting out some heavier music, and I\u2019m excited about it. It\u2019s in my roots and something I\u2019ve always wanted to explore. I\u2019ve touched on it before with songs like \u201cBurn \u2019Em All,\u201d but I\u2019ve switched producers and I\u2019m really honing in on a sound that I\u2019m excited about.\u201d<\/p>\n The powerhouse vocalist paired the song\u2019s release with a new music video that brings the storyline to life.
