No matter who ends up owning Warner Bros Discovery<\/a>, Superman<\/a> will remain a jewel in the the 102-year-old studio\u2019s crown. With big bucks bids for the currently David Zaslav<\/a>-run company now in from Paramount<\/a>, Comcast<\/a> and Netflix<\/a>, another auction of sorts down in Texas that put a winning price tag on Man from Krypton<\/a>\u2019s IP could prove a sign of what\u2019s to come for Wbd shareholders.<\/p>\n

A near pristine copy of Superman<\/a> #1 from 1939 sold for $9.12 million this week. That November 20 sale is an all-time record price for a comic book.<\/p>\n

Add to that, a Neil Adam<\/a> illustrated Superman<\/a> cover from 1971 just sold Friday for $1.2 million.<\/p>\n
