The network&#8217;s &#8220;The Life of Jesus Podcast&#8221; will feature such names as <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailydot.com\/tags\/kristen-bell\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Kristen Bell;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Kristen Bell<\/a>, Brian Cox, and Malcolm McDowell after repurposing audio recorded over 15 years ago for another project.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Many fans of these celebrities condemned the use of their voices without consent for a podcast associated with a rather controversial company.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"mb-4 text-xl font-bold md:text-2xl\">Brian Cox isn&#8217;t going to like this<\/h2>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The network announced the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/tv\/news\/fox-news-religious-themes-programming-ainsley-earhardt-1236585322\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:new project;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">new project<\/a> on Nov. 19 as part of its expansion of Fox Faith. In 2021, Brian Cox <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/uproxx.com\/tv\/brian-cox-fox-news-the-devil-succession-season-3\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:literally called;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">literally called<\/a> Fox News &#8220;like, the devil.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;Brian recorded audio for a project over a decade ago,&#8221; a representative for Cox told <em><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/tv-movies\/tv-movie-features\/kristen-bell-fox-jesus-podcast-1235469633\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Rolling Stone;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Rolling Stone<\/a><\/em>. &#8220;He was unaware that the audio would be repurposed for a new podcast series in 2025.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">He, like the rest of us, didn&#8217;t hear about it until Wednesday. Bombshell actor Malcolm McDowell has a similar story.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;We had no knowledge these recordings were being redistributed as a podcast until this week,&#8221; said his rep to <em><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/celebrities-voice-performances-used-fox-news-jesus-podcast-without-knowledge-11854206\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Entertainment Weekly;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Entertainment Weekly<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Other voices appropriated for the new Jesus podcast include Sean Astin, Neal McDonough, Julia Ormond, and John Rhys-Davies. Fox will surely soon find out if &#8220;repurposing&#8221; all these actors&#8217; work is against union rules, because Astin is currently serving as the 4th national president of SAG-AFTRA.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"mb-4 text-xl font-bold md:text-2xl\">&#8220;That sounds right&#8221;<\/h2>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Those familiar with and critical of Fox News&#8217; work didn&#8217;t exactly experience surprise when they learned why some of their favorite names would appear in its latest religious project.
