Paramount has delayed the untitled comedy starring Kendrick Lamar and directed by \u201cSouth Park\u201d creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s true \u2013 we\u2019re moving (again). We\u2019re working hard at finishing the movie,\u201d Park County, Stone and Parker\u2019s production company, and pgLang, Lamar\u2019s company, said in a joint statement Friday.<\/p>\n
The studio previously dated the film for March 20, 2026, after it was supposed to be released July 4 of this year.<\/p>\n
According to Deadline, which first reported the news, Lamar has been touring globally since April and won\u2019t wrap until next month. Meanwhile, Parker and Stone have been focused on the new season of \u201cSouth Park.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/a><\/figure>\n The script for the project is by Vernon Chatman and, while Paramount has yet to reveal any plot details, the studio previously described the movie as an \u201coriginal live-action comedy.\u201d<\/p>\n Lamar and Dave Free are producing through their company, the aforementioned pgLang, while Stone and Parker are producing for Park County.<\/p>\n The film is the first feature from Parker and Stone in more than two decades \u2013 their last feature was 2004\u2019s puppet-filled \u201cTeam America: World Police;\u201d before that was their Oscar-nominated 1999 \u201cSouth Park\u201d movie, \u201cBigger, Longer & Uncut.\u201d<\/p>\n Lamar has won 22 Grammy awards (including several this year).
