Eddie Murphy has revealed the three movies he regrets turning down throughout his career<\/a>, notably mentioning that they all wound up becoming Hollywood blockbusters.<\/p>\n

The first was Ivan Reitman\u2019s 1984 film \u201cGhostbusters,\u201d which ended up starring Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, Rick Moranis, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts and Sigourney Weaver. The second was the duo cop comedy \u201cRush Hour,\u201d which starred Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker and also went on to become a hit film franchise.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Ghostbusters,\u2019 I was supposed to do \u2018Ghostbusters,\u2019 didn\u2019t do that, and \u2018Rush Hour,\u201d Murphy said in a recent interview with AP Entertainment<\/a>. \u201cOh, and \u2018Who Framed Roger Rabbit.\u2019 Those are my big three \u2018Wish-I-would-have-done\u2019 movies \u2026 They were huge, giant hits.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cBeing Eddie\u201d subject went on to explain that the \u201cGhostbusters\u201d fumble ended up working out because he got tapped to do his beloved cop comedy-action flick \u201cBeverly Hills Cop.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWith \u2018Ghostbusters, I did \u2018Beverly Hills Cop\u2019 instead. It was do this or that, so it worked out cool,\u201d he said. But for \u201cRoger Rabbit,\u201d the title was a turn-off: \u201cJust sounded ridiculous to me, and I passed on it. And afterwards, I was like, \u2018Oh, that\u2019s f\u2014king amazing.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Murphy sat down with the AP to promote his Netflix documentary \u201cBeing Eddie,\u201d which spotlights the comedian\u2019s career in Hollywood. While he may not have had the chance to star in the films he mentioned, his resume is packed with cinematic successes, including the \u201cNutty Professor\u201d and \u201cShrek\u201d film franchises, \u201cDr. Dolittle,\u201d \u201cLife\u201d and many more. Not to mention Murphy\u2019s first claim to fame is his comedy background and his legendary standup specials, like \u201cRaw.\u201d<\/p>\n
