The first drag queen to compete on Strictly Come Dancing<\/a> in the show\u2019s history has been forced to withdraw following an injury.<\/p>\n La Voix, 45<\/a> was given a bye to the next round of the competition after the injury was announced last week, but will now go no further on the BBC programme.<\/p>\n Speaking at the start of Saturday\u2019s episode, presenter Tess Daly said: \u201cNow, as you may have heard, La Voix sustained an injury, meaning that she can\u2019t dance in Blackpool tonight, and following further advice from our medical team, we can now confirm she has very sadly had to withdraw from the competition.\u201d<\/p>\n Claudia Winkleman, a fellow presenter, said: \u201cWe will be speaking to La Voix on tomorrow night\u2019s show, we love you so, so much.\u201d<\/p>\n The presenters later revealed that no contestant would be leaving Strictly during its Blackpool special, with no dance-off planned and votes set to be carried over to next week.<\/p>\n La Voix, who was paired with professional dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec, could be seen watching in the audience at Blackpool on Saturday, where the show\u2019s remaining six couples will perform.<\/p>\n Speaking after their injury was first announced, La Voix said: \u201cIt is with immense sadness that I have to withdraw from this weekend\u2019s Strictly Come Dancing<\/a> show in Blackpool.<\/p>\n \u201cDue to an injury, I\u2019ve been advised that I\u2019m unable to perform, and my heart truly breaks knowing I won\u2019t be dancing in such an iconic venue.<\/p>\n \u201cAljaz and I have worked incredibly hard, and we were so excited to share our routine with everyone.<\/p>\n \u201cI am devastated not to be joining the rest of the cast on that famous dance floor, but my focus now is on recovery.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ll be cheering on all the amazing couples this weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n The star is the second contestant to leave this year\u2019s competition due to injury, after Neighbours actor Stefan Dennis pulled out of Strictly following an injury to his calf in October.<\/p>\n The Australian actor, 66, was paired with professional dancer Dianne Buswell, and said he was \u201cdevastated\u201d to leave the show.<\/p>\n La Voix is renowned for being the runner-up on Series 6 of RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race UK in 2024<\/a>, in which she impressed the audience with her stage presence.<\/p>\n It was at school that the star discovered her love of performing before moving from Stockton-on-Tees to London to study drama at Brunel University.<\/p>\n The star went on to train in Musical Theatre at the Urdang Academy before making her debut in drag at Soho\u2019s famous Madame Jojo\u2019s.<\/p>\n La Voix has appeared in Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie<\/a> alongside Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley.<\/p>\n Strictly Come Dancing returns for its results show on Sunday at 7.15pm on BBC One.<\/p>\n
