Kate Winslet almost flashed King Charles III at the tender age of 20, she admitted on a US chat show. The Titanic actress forgot she was wearing \u201ctransparent lace\u201d, and hadn\u2019t quite comprehended that she was going to meet the future King at the premiere of Sense and Sensibility in 1996<\/a>. It wasn\u2019t the final time the two would cross paths \u2013 fast forward 20 years<\/a> and she would have yet another nerve-racking encounter.<\/p>\n \u201cThe first time I met him, he had come to support the royal premiere of Sense and Sensibility,\u201d she said. \u201cI was only 20. I hadn\u2019t realised that we were going to meet him.\u201d At the time, he was the Prince of Wales.<\/p>\n She recalled: \u201cI forgot about the fact that I was wearing a kind of transparent lace outfit. And thank god I’d worn a coat because as he\u2019s making his way towards me, I\u2019m like\u2026 Nipples, nipples, nipples, oh my God. I basically covered myself in a cape and was like, \u2018Your Majesty!\u2019\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The chat show host Jimmy Kimmel joked: \u201cThat makes me feel sorry for the king because he\u2019s the only one that doesn\u2019t get to see nipples. He\u2019s just watching everyone curtsy all the time, there\u2019s no fun in that.\u201d<\/p>\n Now an Oscar-winning actress and ambassador for The King\u2019s Foundation, Kate Winslet encountered Charles once again this summer, alongside Meryl Streep and David Beckham<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cActually, there was a conversation about [protocol],\u201d she said. They may be a star-studded line-up, but royalty in Britain still carries reverence. She continued: \u201cSo Meryl and I, as we were walking to meet the King, she says to me, \u2018Do you think we have to curtsy?\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI said, \u2018Absolutely, we have to curtsy\u2019. She was like \u2018Ok, is it a big curtsy? What do we do?\u2019 I said, \u2018I don\u2019t know, we\u2019ll just make the most\u2019, and she was like, \u2018I don\u2019t know if we need to do that\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Winslet nobly spared Streep the embarrassment and volunteered to go first. \u201cThere was a big panic,\u201d she recalled. \u201cWe didn\u2019t know what the form was. I\u2019m always volunteering to go first because I feel like leadership is important. Someone has to get it wrong and it\u2019s usually me that does, so I don\u2019t mind taking the hit.\u201d<\/p>\n
