Bruce Willis<\/a>\u2019 daughter, Rumer, offered a candid assessment of her father\u2019s frontotemporal dementia diagnosis during a recent Instagram Q&A.<\/p>\n The 37-year-old actress told followers Thursday that her father is \u201cdoing OK, in terms of somebody who\u2019s dealing with frontotemporal dementia,\u201d though she noted the harsh truth that \u201canybody with FTD is not doing great.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cDie Hard\u201d star, 70, stepped away from acting in 2022 following an aphasia diagnosis. His family later revealed he was suffering from frontotemporal dementia, or FTD.<\/p>\n Despite the progressive nature of the disease, Rumer said she finds comfort in the moments they share. \u201cI\u2019m so grateful that when I go over there, and I give him a hug, whether he recognizes me or not, that he can feel the love I\u2019ve given him, and I can feel it back from him,\u201d she said. \u201cThat I still see a spark of him, and he can feel the love that I\u2019m giving. So that feels really nice.\u201d<\/p>\n The beloved actor now lives in a nearby residence where he receives round-the-clock care, a decision his wife, Emma Heming Willis, discussed publicly in August. She described the choice as necessary for the family\u2019s safety and well-being, saying, \u201cThis is the best decision for our family. It was the safest one. And our family is now, in essence, thriving.\u201d<\/p>\n Heming Willis noted their daughters\u2019 world has \u201ccompletely opened up\u201d since the decision. \u201cIt\u2019s the right thing for our family, and it might not be right for everybody else\u2019s, but that\u2019s OK.
