On Oct. 4, 2024, Donald Glover canceled the remainder<\/a> of his Childish Gambino tour in North America in Europe due to a serious health issue, saying he had surgery scheduled and “needed time out to heal.”<\/p>\n This weekend, the 42-year-old artist opened up about what he was dealing with during a performance at Tyler, the Creator\u2019s Camp Flog Gnaw Saturday night. Speaking with the crowd, Glover revealed he suffered a stroke last year.<\/p>\n Glover was on stage at Dodgers Stadium last night when he began detailing his health ordeal.<\/p>\n “I was having lots of fun, really loving seeing you guys out there, and I had a really bad pain in my head in Louisiana,” Glover told fans<\/a>. “I did the show anyway. I couldn’t really see well, so when we went to Houston, I went to the hospital, and the doctor was like, ‘You had a stroke.'”<\/p>\n “And the first thing I thought was like, \u2018Oh, here I am still copying Jamie Foxx,'” Glover joked, referring to the actor’s severe 2023 stroke<\/a>. “That\u2019s really like the second thing. The first thing was like, \u2018I\u2019m letting everybody down.'”<\/p>\n Glover’s 2024 New World Tour only included 18 shows because of its premature ending. The Atlanta <\/em>star admitted to feeling even more guilt as his list of ailments piled up.<\/p>\n “I broke my foot,” he recalled. “I always promise Ireland I’m gonna be there, and I still haven’t been, and they found a hole in my heart, so I had to do surgery, and then I had to have another surgery.”<\/p>\n Obviously, the most important news here is that not only did Glover survive, he recovered well enough to resume performing.<\/p>\n The “This is America” rapper told the crowd that the hardships gave him a fresh outlook on life and his career.<\/p>\n “They say everybody has two lives, and the second life starts when you realize you have one,” Glover said<\/a>. “You got one life, guys. And I gotta be honest, the life I’ve lived with you guys has been such a blessing.
