Season 2 of \u201cLandman\u201d kicked off on Sunday, Nov. 16, and fans of the Taylor Sheridan show<\/a> are already wondering about the next chapter.<\/p>\n Paramount+ hasn\u2019t officially confirmed season 3 of \u201cLandman,\u201d but one of the show\u2019s stars recently let an update slip.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m excited to see what unfolds in season 3. I mean, we\u2019re talking about season 2, but that\u2019s backstory for us at this point. We\u2019re all kind of looking toward April and May when we start shooting season 3,\u201d Sam Elliott, who joined the season 2 cast<\/a> as oil man Tommy Norris\u2019 (Billy Bob Thornton) father, T.L., told Extra TV <\/a>earlier this week. <\/p>\n Thornton, meanwhile, told USA Today<\/a> that he signed on to \u201cLandman\u201d for \u201cfour or five years.\u201d <\/p>\n It seems there\u2019s plenty more in store for fans of the drama series. In fact, series co-creator Christian Wallace recently told The Hollywood Reporter <\/a>that the \u201cLandman\u201d writing team \u201cbarely skimmed the surface\u201d of the show\u2019s potential during season 1.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd again, after season two, I feel like we\u2019re still just skimming the surface,\u201d Wallace said. \u201cOur cast has added so much depth to the characters. They know them so well now that they make it easy to tell an entertaining story.\u201d<\/p>\n If \u201cLandman\u201d season 3 is filmed in the spring of 2026, as Elliott suggested, it could premiere as early as fall 2026. After we wrap, a couple weeks later, we\u2019re like, \u2018Dang, I miss everybody\u2019 \u2014 cast and crew,\u201c Wallace said. \u201dWe have such a great crew. After M-Tex Oil CEO Monty Miller\u2019s (Jon Hamm) death in the season 1 finale, Tommy became president of the company.
