\u201cHamilton\u201d is continuing to celebrate its 10th anniversary<\/a> with a new video for the song \u201cMy Shot,\u201d premiering Nov. 24 exclusively on TODAY.<\/p>\n

In the video, the Broadway musical\u2019s cast honors its New York City roots by donning their costumes and hitting the streets to perform the song for passersby. <\/p>\n

Trey Curtis, who currently stars as Alexander Hamilton, raps the song\u2019s swaggering lyrics. Brazen young Hamilton, who describes himself as \u201cyoung, scrappy and hungry\u201d just like the United States, vows to make his mark on the new nation.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cHamilton,\u201d based on Ron Chernow\u2019s 2004 biography \u201cAlexander Hamilton,\u201d was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda<\/a>, who also originated the role of Hamilton, one of the Founding Fathers of the U.S.<\/p>\n

The musical chronicles the life of the confident young Hamilton, examining his role in the American Revolution and later as the secretary of the treasury, including his doomed feud with U.S. Vice President Aaron Burr.<\/p>\n

Directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, \u201cHamilton\u201d opened Aug. 6, 2015<\/a>, at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.<\/p>\n

\u201cHamilton,\u201d which has won 11 Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, has been celebrating its 10th birthday this year. The show\u2019s original Broadway cast reunited in June for a special medley of songs <\/a>at the Tonys. On Aug. 6, the current cast performed the show for members of the original production and celebrities at an invite-only anniversary event<\/a>. <\/p>\n

A 2016 performance of \u201cHamilton\u201d that was filmed for a theatrical release made its debut Sept. 5 at the Delacorte Theater with cast members in attendance. (The movie previously dropped on Disney+ in 2020.)<\/p>\n

Also this year, Leslie Odom Jr., who won a Tony for playing Aaron Burr in \u201cHamilton,\u201d returned to the Richard Rodgers Stage to reprise<\/a> his role.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t believe people are still talking about it,\u201d Miranda said of the success of \u201cHamilton\u201d during a September 2025 interview with NBC\u2019s Morgan Radford.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really thrilling,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
