Sheinelle Jones<\/a> got an unexpected surprise on the third hour of Today<\/a><\/em>\u2018s Tuesday, November 25, episode.<\/p>\n At the top of the show, Jones and her cohosts, Craig Melvin<\/a> and Al Roker<\/a>, chatted about a report claiming that New York City residents will wait over 50 minutes for a table at restaurants. Amid the discussion, Jones got distracted by some familiar faces outside of Today<\/em>\u2018s Studio 1A.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat? Sorry, somebody\u2019s outside of the window and I know them. Come on in!\u201d she stated. \u201cI used to babysit her children. That\u2019s Ms. Barbara from Wichita.\u201d<\/p>\n Jones\u2019 jaw dropped when she realized that the woman Ms. Turner\u2019s daughter, Kennedy, is all grown up. \u201cOh my gosh! How is she taller than me?\u201d Jones said of her former babysitting client. \u201cOkay, that does not happen every day, where people from Wichita that you babysit just happen to walk by.\u201d<\/p>\n Jones, Melvin, and Roker continued their conversation until the two women were brought inside the studio. \u201cThis is Ms. Turner and her daughter, Kennedy,\u201d Jones said before asking, \u201cAre you just randomly in town?\u201d<\/p>\n NBC<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Ms. Turner explained that she and her daughter were in NYC and \u201chad to come see\u201d Jones in person. Kennedy added that Jones used to babysit her when she was around 5 or 6 years old, and that she\u2019s now 37.<\/p>\n Kennedy\u2019s age shocked Jones, who is now 47. \u201cShe just put your age out there,\u201d Melvin quipped, while Roker joked, \u201cEverybody\u2019s thinking right now, you know what they\u2019re thinking? \u2018Sheinelle looks good for somebody so old.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Ms. Turner also surprised Jones with a scholarship letter she wrote back in high school. \u201cOh, they came with receipts!\u201d Melvin exclaimed. Roker, for his part, noted that Jones does not \u201clook any different\u201d than she did in the cheerleading photo featured on the letter.<\/p>\n \u201cSheinelle Jones, this is your life!\u201d Roker joked.<\/p>\n Jones returned<\/a> to Today<\/em> in September after taking several months off to help her husband, Uche Ojeh, through his private battle with brain cancer. On a May episode of the NBC morning show, Savannah Guthrie<\/a> announced that Ojeh had died<\/a> at the age of 45.<\/p>\n
