Following heartfelt tributes and a skipped elimination, “Dancing with the Stars<\/a>” is getting back to business.<\/p>\nDuring the night’s “Wicked<\/a>” tribute night on Tuesday, Oct. 21 \u2013 in which director Jon M. Chu<\/a> joined as guest judge \u2013 one star was eventually eliminated: Scott Hoying<\/a>.<\/p>\nThe singer-songwriter and\u00a0Pentatonix<\/a>\u00a0member, 34, and castmates including “Boy Meets World”<\/a>\u00a0alum\u00a0Danielle Fishel<\/a>,\u00a0“The Parent Trap”<\/a>\u00a0star\u00a0Elaine Hendrix<\/a>\u00a0and Australian conservationist\u00a0Robert Irwin<\/a>, were tasked with performing to tracks from the Broadway movie adaptation and its sequel, November’s “Wicked: For Good<\/a>.”<\/p>\nWith partner Rylee Arnold, Hoying danced a contemporary routine to “The Wizard and I,”<\/a> with the singer playing as the Wizard and Arnold playing Elphaba. Dinged for their choppy transitions, the pair went on to score 28 out of 40.<\/p>\n“I feel really … lucky. Genuinely,” he told “Extra<\/a>” after his elimination. “And I’m so sad to go, but I just can’t believe it. Like, my husband and I were standing face-to-face announcing our baby on the show, that’s crazy. That’s more than I could’ve ever dreamed for.”<\/p>\nDuring the week of Oct. 14, amid the Dedication Night round, Hoying performed a\u00a0sweet foxtrot to his song “Parallel,”<\/a>\u00a0which opened with Hoying singing a line from the song to his husband, Mark Hoying, and revealed earlier in the episode that the couple is expecting their first child<\/a> via surrogacy.<\/p>\n
