The Notre Dame Royals remain the only unbeaten team in high school baseball after cutting down the Guam High Panthers, 13-4, Tuesday evening, but not after an early scare.<\/p>\n
The Panthers actually took a 3-0 lead going into the bottom of the 3rd inning before the Royals scored five runs in the 3rd and six runs in the 4th inning to pull away.<\/p>\n
Derrin Gumataotao went 3-for-4 at the plate and came in relief on the mound for the win after 3 2\/3 innings, striking out seven.<\/p>\n
Catcher Co\u2019en Villanueva added firepower to the ND offense going 3-for-3 as the Royals dished out 15 hits.<\/p>\n
Guam High got to ND starter Trace Taijeron with two runs in the first and another in the third for a surprising 3-0 lead over the league-leading Royals.<\/p>\n
Panthers starter Wesley Agustin once again got off to a good start, keeping ND scoreless for two innings, but ran into trouble in the next two innings.<\/p>\n
Ty Leon Guerrero and Daniel Gumataotao added two hits for the Royals.<\/p>\n
Geckos beat Sharks<\/h3>\n
The GW Geckos sat all their starters and still came away with a big 18-2 win over the Sanchez Sharks.<\/p>\n
