Randy \u201cShotgun\u201d Shannon has added a new title to his duties at Y100 <\/a>(WNCY-FM).<\/p>\n He has been named brand manager at the Green Bay country music station where his voice first became familiar to listeners in the mid-1990s. He fills the position previously held by Dan Stone, who retired in October after 34 years with Midwest Communications Inc., <\/a>which owns Y100, WIXX-FM <\/a>and other stations across the country.<\/p>\n Shannon will continue as morning show host, a role he has enjoyed since he was first paired with\u00a0Charli\u00a0McKenzie in 2017 for \u201cShotgun & Charli in the Morning.\u201d He\u2019s been without a permanent co-host since Aug. 1 when McKenzie moved back Michigan\u2019s Upper Peninsula<\/a> to be with family after 20 years at the station.<\/p>\n Heather\u00a0Heil\u00a0has been temporarily helping him out during the 5-to-9 a.m. slot over the last few months. An announcement on his new morning show co-host is expected soon, according to a news release.<\/p>\n During his tenure at Y100, Shannon previously spent 10 years as program director at the popular station, which celebrated its 30th\u00a0anniversary this year. After leaving to do mornings in the Denver and San Antonio, Texas, radio markets, he returned to Y100 in 2012.<\/p>\n \u201cWNCY\u00a0has always been my baby. I’ve been involved with the station since the beginning 30 years ago and I’m excited to be at the helm of this legendary station again, and getting a chance to shape my own team,\u201d Shannon said in the news release.<\/p>\n
