Guy Fieri has had a rough couple of weeks and things just got a lot worse after the celebrity chef suffered a serious injury that caused him to be rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. <\/p>\n
Fieri made the revelation during a recent interview with Fox News Digital.<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n \u201cSlipped down a set of steps and one foot went forward and the other foot got caught on the threshold,\u201d Fieri said. \u201cSo, you know, it extended me out. I looked like I was probably doing the splits, but when my right leg compressed into itself the giveaway point and the doctor said he\u2019s never seen \u2014 you know, in 20 years \u2014 he hasn\u2019t seen a tear in the biggest, thickest part of your quad in half. Yeah, it sucked.\u201d<\/p>\n Fieri said he was currently in a wheelchair, and that the reason that he had to be rushed into surgery was so that the muscle didn\u2019t \u201crecede.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou normally tear that muscle at your tendon or the tendon tears off the bone, but this was right in the center of the whole quad muscle and it exploded,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n Fox reported that Fieri was working on filming his new show, \u201cFlavor Town Food Fight,\u201d when the incident occurred.<\/p>\n \u201cSo, right in the middle of filming that and we\u2019ve got everybody in two and all the chefs there and 125 people on set \u2014 and everybody\u2019s ready to go \u2014 and I\u2019m in surgery,\u201d Fieri said. \u201cSo, we figured out how to pivot through it and to have some creative filming techniques. But it\u2019s been a run, and now I\u2019m up here at the ranch, where it\u2019s always about hiking and outdoors, and you know, beautiful.<\/p>\n \u201cEight weeks of no weight on it, crutches and a cast and then the rehab, which to me \u2014 I want to get after it as fast as possible,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n This all comes after the 57-year-old Food Network star\u2019s fans were sending him prayers last week after he shared a photo on what would have been his late father\u2019s birthday. <\/p>\n \u201cHappy 83rd<\/sup> birthday to my hero,\u201d Fieri wrote alongside a photo of his family seated at a table.<\/b><\/a> \u201cMy dad \u2018Jamps.\u2019 We miss you everyday and appreciate all the life lessons and guidance. Happy birthday wise old owl!!!\u201d<\/p>\n The Food Network star\u2019s father, Jim Ferry, died back on Jan. 27, 2024 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.<\/p>\n Fieri discussed his father\u2019s cancer battle prior to his death.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s been a great advocate for people that have gone through it,\u201d Fieri told People Magazine in 2022<\/b>.<\/a> \u201cBecause there\u2019s not a lot of knowledge about it. It\u2019s not a great success rate. But I think you got to live every single day. That\u2019s the biggest thing, is you never know what tomorrow\u2019s going to bring.\u201d<\/p>\n Jim Ferry was not the first person in Fieri\u2019s family who died after battling cancer. Hi sister, Jules, died from melanoma in 2011, and he and his wife raised her son, Jules, who was 11 at the time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
