When Robert Irwin<\/strong> <\/a>won Dancing With the Stars <\/i>season 34<\/a>, he had Xochitl Gomez<\/strong> in his corner.<\/p>\n \u201cText ROBERT to 21523,\u201d Gomez, 19, wrote via her Instagram Stories hours before the Tuesday, November 25, live finale, later sharing footage of Irwin\u2019s stellar freestyle routine.<\/p>\n Irwin, 21, and pro Witney Carson<\/strong> came out victorious on Tuesday<\/a>, clinching the mirrorball trophy over Gomez\u2019s former partner, Val Chmerkovskiy<\/strong>, and Alix Earle<\/strong>. (Gomez and Chmerkovskiy, 39, won season 32 in 2023.)<\/p>\n \u201cI am so incredibly proud of you two,\u201d Gomez wrote via her Instagram Stories, tagging Irwin and Carson\u2019s social media accounts. \u201cWhat a season! \u2764\ufe0f<\/span> \u2728<\/span> .\u201d<\/p>\n Just ahead of the live show, she was spotted in photos obtained by TMZ<\/a>, giving a bouquet of flowers to Irwin. After his win, now-viral social media footage<\/a> showed Irwin greeting Gomez with a hug as he appeared to mouth, \u201cThank you. How are you?\u201d<\/p>\n Gomez met Irwin earlier during season 34 when they were paired for DWTS<\/i>\u2019 <\/i>relay round<\/a> during the 20th Birthday Party episode. At the time, each competitor danced with a former champion in a head-to-head challenge against another duo.<\/p>\n \u201cWitney choreographed [the number] and so I\u2019m not gonna lie, I was most excited to be dancing with Witney and having her teach me,\u201d Gomez told Entertainment Tonight <\/i><\/a>earlier this month. \u201cI\u2019ve just been such a big fan and her hair whips, her lines, her sharpness, her technicality is off the f***ing charts. I was just very amped to have her teaching me.\u201d<\/p>\n Gomez didn\u2019t just enjoy working with Carson, 32, but also Irwin himself.<\/p>\n \u201cI think people know this already, but just how energetic he is. We had a rehearsal without Witney because they were filming something special,\u201d she recalled to the outlet. \u201cIt was just Robert and I for three hours, and \u2018Oh my God!\u2019 Witney taught him a thing or two because he was drilling me in the nicest way possible. He\u2019s like, \u2018I think you need to pick it up a little more.\u2019 I was like, \u2018Oh! Well, you\u2019re talking to a former dance champion but I\u2019ve never danced this style so you can teach me.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n While Irwin\u2019s single status has made headlines all DWTS <\/i>season long, his outings with Gomez have only amplified the conversation.<\/p>\n \u201cOh my gosh, we had the best time [and] that dance was so much fun,\u201d he told TMZ<\/a> last month when asked whether they were an item. \u201cIt was so cool to do two such distinct dances. One that was really slow and heartfelt, and then the dance with Xochitl, which was just like energy and fun. She\u2019s the best. It\u2019s been really, really great.\u201d<\/p>\n
