Apple TV has pulled the French thriller \u201cThe Hunt\u201d from its upcoming schedule after its director has been accused of plagiarizing the story from a 1973 novel. <\/p>\n

According to Apple Insider, <\/a>\u201cThe Hunt\u201d was taken off of the Apple TV app on Nov. 20 and has removed all materials about the show from its site. No explanation for its removal was provided by Apple.<\/p>\n

However, series creator Cedric Anger has been accused of stealing the central plot from the novel \u201cShoot\u201d by Douglas Fairbairn.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Hunt\u201d is about a group of hunting buddies that are attacked by another bunch of mysterious hunters while in the woods. After getting back home to their families they continue to feel they are being stalked.<\/p>\n

The film stars Damien Bonnard, Manuel Guillot, C\u00e9dric Appietto, Angelyna Danabe Mignot, Paul Beaurepaire, Yann Goven, Sarah Pachoud and Patrick de Vallette.<\/p>\n

The film\u2019s French producer Gaumont confirmed to Variety.<\/a> it has been shelved.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe broadcast of our series \u2018The Hunt\u2019 has been temporarily postponed,\u201d the company said in a statement. \u201cWe are currently conducting a thorough review to address any questions related to our production. We take intellectual property matters very seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n

The series was scheduled to debut with two episodes on Dec. 3, with one new episode every Wednesday airing until Dec. 31. <\/p>\n

\u201cShoot,\u201d was adapted into a movie<\/a> in 1976. It was directed by Harvey Hart and starred Cliff Robertson, Ernest Borgnine and Henry Silva.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
