McFadden told Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two: \u201cI was really excited because my little daughter Ruby is absolutely obsessed with Strictly this year.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo as soon as she comes home from school, it\u2019s back on.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe watch Saturday\u2019s and Sunday\u2019s every single day, so we\u2019ve really got into it.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd then when I got the phone call to do the Christmas Special, I was like \u2018you\u2019ve got to be kidding, what about timing for that\u2019?<\/p>\n
\u201cSo our household is so excited right now, they\u2019re even watching at home.\u201d<\/p>\n
Also competing in the Christmas Special this year is comedian Babatunde Aleshe, EastEnders star Nicholas Bailey, All Saints singer Melanie Blatt, former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt, and Gladiator Jodie Ounsley.<\/p>\n
McFadden said: \u201cI actually bumped into Mel the other day when we were rehearsing.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo I haven\u2019t seen Mel since way back in the kind of \u201990s pop days.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo it was lovely to see her. But look at that line-up.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know Scarlett\u2019s supposed to be an amazing dancer. I\u2019ve heard that she\u2019s incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n
Dublin-born McFadden left Westlife in 2004 and went on to join forces with Boyzone star Keith Duffy to tour as Boyzlife.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s special, hosted by outgoing presenters Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly, and judged by Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke, will see six couples battle it out to be crowned the Christmas champion.<\/p>\n
The 2024 special was won by Strictly\u2019s first drag artist, Tayce, and professional dancer Kai Widdrington.<\/p>\n
The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this Christmas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
