Robert Irwin, the son of the late \u201cCrocodile Hunter\u201d Steve Irwin, won \u201cDancing With The Stars\u201d on Tuesday night, securing the trophy 10 years after his big sister, Bindi, won it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cTo follow in those footsteps and to do the same has meant everything to me,\u201d Robert Irwin told People after his win<\/a>. \u201cThis has absolutely changed my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Robert Irwin and his partner Witney Carson dominated the season, scoring 10s when they danced the Argentine tango, Paso doble, freestyle and more.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n During week five, the celebrities dedicated a dance to a person of their choosing, and Robert Irwin dedicated his dance to his mother, Terri Irwin, calling her an \u201cabsolute hero.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI was 2 when I lost Dad,\u201d Robert Irwin said on the show<\/a>. \u201cAnd as I got older, I\u2019ve just realized how hard it would have been for her.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The Irwin kids were thrust into the international spotlight after their father, Steve Irwin, died in 2006 after suffering an attack from a stingray while filming a documentary, shocking fans. During Steve Irwin\u2019s memorial service, Bindi Irwin, at age 8, delivered an emotional speech, calling her dad her hero.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n On Bindi Irwin\u2019s season of \u201cDancing With The Stars\u201d in 2015, she dedicated one of her dances to her late father, saying on the show<\/a> that she sometimes feels like he will still come home. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Bindi and Terri Irwin showed their support for Robert Irwin throughout the season and were in the audience when he won.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Robert Irwin told reporters<\/a> after his triumph that he had a dream to follow in his sister\u2019s footsteps, and on \u201cGood Morning America\u201d on Wednesday morning<\/a>, he added that he remembers watching Bindi Irwin win the competition 10 years ago, calling it a \u201cprivilege\u201d to do the same.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThat pressure was there, but it was just the pressure to be the best version of ourselves because we just wanted to say thank you because I had no idea what to expect coming over, but the way everyone in America was just so kind and so embracing,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Robert Irwin beat out social media star Alix Earle, reality TV star Dylan Efron, and Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles for the title. Before the finale, Earle posted a TikTok<\/a> crying, reflecting on her time on \u201cDancing With The Stars,\u201d saying it was something she always wanted to do.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThis show has just given me reason to prove,\u201d Earle said in the TikTok, \u201cthat I do work hard and I don\u2019t know, I feel like it\u2019s been able to show me in a new light.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
