Codd previously opened up about injuring her right leg while playing soccer when she was 15. After her broken leg failed to heal, she had it amputated below the knee several years later.<\/p>\n
\u201cI got injured at 15, and I didn\u2019t get my leg amputated until I was 23. So, those eight years were operation after operation, and, sometimes they kind of worked for a while, and then I\u2019d end up back on crutches,\u201d she told Teen Vogue<\/em><\/a> in October 2022. \u201cAt that age, you think you\u2019re unstoppable, and it was a lot of having to learn a bit too young that sometimes life doesn\u2019t really work out the way you thought it would.\u201d<\/p>\n\u201cBut I wouldn\u2019t change it. It made me a really resilient person. I\u2019m thankful for just being able to do simple things like walk around or go on a bike or ride my horse. It kind of teaches you to not take things for granted,\u201d she added at the time.<\/p>\n
