Meghan Markle<\/a> has been brutally nicknamed \u201cSalmonella Sussex\u201d after social media users pointed out a major hygiene error in the Duchess of Sussex’s latest social media post. Meghan shared her Thanksgiving preparations<\/a> with her fans, which included a video of her seasoning a turkey<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She can be seen stuffing the bird before applying pepper and herbs and grating a little citrus zest on the turkey, which sits on a large ovenproof dish. The video did not go down well with fans online, as they quickly noted that Meghan left her jewellery on while handling the raw turkey.<\/p>\n

One person wrote: \u201cSo gross, and it’s basic food handling knowledge. Proof she has no idea what she’s doing.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A second account agreed saying: \u201cI don’t know anyone who wears their rings and bracelets when handling food, especially a turkey. Guaranteed spread of bacteria.”<\/p>\n

A third shared: \u201cThen she picks up the pepper grinder without washing her hands. Another Salmonella Sussex disaster.”<\/p>\n

While Meghan gave an insight into her Thanksgiving preparations, she also used the holiday to share an emotional new message<\/a> with her fans. Shared via email with fans of her lifestyle brand, As Ever, Meghan wrote: “From my family to yours, wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving!<\/p>\n

“I am so thankful for your support and warmth as we’ve grown As ever throughout the year, and the way in which you’ve invited this collection to be a part of your home.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Duchess went on: “Being able to play a small role in your memories, family moments, special celebrations, and daily routines is not lost on me – from the jam you layer onto morning toast or slather onto PB&J for your kids’ lunchboxes; the honey you stir into your tea; the candle you light to welcome the day or close it out with a cozy bath; the bottle of bubbles you pop to celebrate or the wine you sip as you toast your loved ones – you’ve invited us in.<\/p>\n

“I am privileged that As ever<\/em> gets a seat at the table with you and the ones you love. Please know that as I look around my home and see my husband and children, family, dear friends (and also navigate the timing on the turkey and the love and layers that come with hostessing)\u2014I feel very grateful. For this adventure of life, for the love and support\u2014and for you.”<\/p>\n

Signing her message off, Meghan wrote: “Wishing you a Thanksgiving with full hearts and full bellies. Thank you for supporting As ever<\/em>. It really does mean the world to me. As Ever, Meghan.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
