The Nevada Union High School Band Program proudly invites the community to its annual Winter Concert on Thursday, December 4, at 7:00 p.m. in the Don Baggett Theater at Nevada Union High School. This festive evening promises a celebration of seasonal music and outstanding student musicianship.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The concert will feature performances by the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Band, offering audiences a rich and varied program. Selections will span multiple musical styles, with a special emphasis on holiday favorites that capture the spirit of the season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cThis concert is a wonderful opportunity for our students to share their hard work and musical growth with the community,\u201d said band director David Fowler. \u201cWe are looking forward to celebrating the season with everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Nevada Union High School Band Program, under the direction of David Fowler, provides an enriching musical education that supports students\u2019 artistic growth and teamwork. Through instruction in Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and Percussion students develop strong musicianship while gaining the discipline, creativity, and collaborative skills that extend far beyond the classroom.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In turn, these talented young musicians give back to the community through numerous live performances throughout the year. Nevada Union band students proudly represent the school at events including the Nevada County Fair\u2019s Opening Day Ceremony, the Constitution Day Parade, Veterans Day Ceremony, the Colfax Light Parade, the Nevada City Mardi Gras Parade and performances at Nevada Union Football games. Their participation in these events demonstrates the program\u2019s commitment to both musical excellence and community engagement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Together, the ensembles of the Nevada Union Band Program enrich students\u2019 lives while strengthening and celebrating the community they serve. The Nevada Union High School Choir, under the direction of Conor Jamison, is excited to announce two highly anticipated holiday performances that will spread the spirit of the season and showcase the incredible talent of the students. The performances include the annual Madrigal Dinner Chamber Choir performance and feast on Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6, followed by the All Choirs Holiday Concert on Thursday, December 11. Both events are sure to captivate audiences with festive music and cheer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

2025 Royal Madrigal Dinner<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Join us for a one-of-a-kind experience at the 39th Annual Madrigal Dinner, a beloved tradition for Nevada County residents. The Madrigal Dinner is a festive blend of music, history, comedy, and immersive dinner theater, complete with hand-crafted costumes and enchanting performances from the elite twenty student Chamber Choir. The students\u2019 voices and energy will bring the warmth and magic of the season to life, transcending the winter cold and darkness.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Tickets are $50 per person, including dinner, entertainment, and the famous Wassail drink. Tickets are available for purchase in advance at NUChoir.org<\/a>. Additional wine purchases are available for cash only at the event. This popular event often sells out, so be sure to secure your tickets early. All Choirs Holiday Concert<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

On Thursday, December 11, the entire Nevada Union Choir of seventy students will come together for a heartwarming Holiday Concert featuring classic Christmas songs and festive holiday favorites. This concert marks the culmination of a semester of hard work, and all choir levels will take the stage to celebrate the winter season with a variety of traditional and contemporary music.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As part of this annual tradition, alumni choir members are invited to join the current students on stage for the beloved closing song, \u201cMay the Lord Bless You and Keep You,\u201d creating a beautiful moment of connection and celebration.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
