Meghan Markle\u2019s recent interview caught people\u2019s attention due to one awkward moment – but it might not have been the duchess’s fault. In the chat with magazine Harper’s Bazaar, Meghan<\/a> gushed over husband Prince Harry<\/a>, revealing she was drawn to his \u201cchildlike wonder and playfulness\u201d.<\/p>\n

She also explained how pleased she was that her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, were able to watch her as she bravely took the step from making jam in her kitchen to forming her lifestyle brand, As Ever. But one moment from the interview that has seen Meghan mocked was when the journalist revealed, as she went to meet the former actress for a second time at a house in New York, that the house manager grandly introduced her as \u201cMeghan, the Duchess of Sussex\u201d – despite nobody else seemingly being in the house.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Meghan<\/a> has been criticised in the past for clinging on to her title despite her and Harry’s decision five years ago to quit their royal roles.<\/p>\n

Royal expert Jennie Bond told The Mirror<\/a> the introduction was \u201cabsurd\u201d, but maybe not Meghan’s fault.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The former BBC<\/a> royal correspondent explained: \u201cIt sounds so absurd, given the context that this was the second time the interviewer was meeting Meghan, and the first had been so relatively informal, sharing burger and chips at a restaurant.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I suspect that this was simply a house manager getting overly pompous about the fact that there was a Duchess in the house.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmericans tend to get very excited about titles. This was at a friend\u2019s home and the staff were probably over-zealous.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt simply doesn\u2019t sound like the huggy, friendly Meghan we see portrayed elsewhere. So, I don\u2019t think we should start criticising Meghan for this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meghan and Prince Harry<\/a> moved to the USA in 2020 and have been living there ever since.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
