       &#10;        &#10;        &#10;        col1\" id=\"rebelltitem1\" data-id=\"1\" data-reload-ads=\"false\" data-is-image=\"False\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.gbnews.com\/royal\/royal-windsor-castle-christmas-tree?rebelltitem=1#rebelltitem1\" data-basename=\"particle-1\" data-post-id=\"2674356179\" data-published-at=\"1764506200\" data-use-pagination=\"False\">\n<p>Kathryn Jones, Senior Curator of Decorative Arts at the Royal Collection Trust, has revealed that they are recycling decorations to help the environment.<\/p>\n<p>She said: \u201cThe decorations are recycled and reused as much as possible. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rebellt-item&#10;        &#10;        &#10;        &#10;        col1\" id=\"rebelltitem9\" data-id=\"9\" data-reload-ads=\"false\" data-is-image=\"False\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.gbnews.com\/royal\/royal-windsor-castle-christmas-tree?rebelltitem=9#rebelltitem9\" data-basename=\"particle-9\" data-post-id=\"2674356179\" data-published-at=\"1764506200\" data-use-pagination=\"False\">\n<p>\u201cWe switch decorations between the residences to provide variety, and we source recycled and recyclable tinsel made in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are no historic Christmas decorations in the Royal Collection; probably because they were used and replaced when worn, or they were edible \u2013 for example, sweets and nuts were often tied to the branches in the 19th century.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She also revealed that the halls were designed as perfect frames to fit the extravagant trees. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rebellt-item&#10;        &#10;        &#10;        &#10;        col1\" id=\"rebelltitem10\" data-id=\"10\" data-reload-ads=\"false\" data-is-image=\"False\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.gbnews.com\/royal\/royal-windsor-castle-christmas-tree?rebelltitem=10#rebelltitem10\" data-basename=\"particle-10\" data-post-id=\"2674356179\" data-published-at=\"1764506200\" data-use-pagination=\"False\">\n<p>She continued: \u201cThe state apartments at Windsor were designed as magnificent backdrops for ceremony and entertaining.<\/p>\n<p><span\/>\u201cMany of the spaces have high ceilings and plenty of gilding, which act as perfect frames for the Christmas trees.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Nordmann fir tree is traditionally brought in from Windsor Great Park, with a second on display in the Crimson Drawing Room&#8221;.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rebellt-item&#10;        &#10;        &#10;        &#10;        col1\" id=\"rebelltitem11\" data-id=\"11\" data-reload-ads=\"false\" data-is-image=\"True\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.gbnews.com\/royal\/royal-windsor-castle-christmas-tree?rebelltitem=11#rebelltitem11\" data-basename=\"particle-11\" data-post-id=\"2674356179\" data-published-at=\"1764506200\" data-use-pagination=\"False\"><small class=\"image-media media-caption\"><span class=\"media-photo-credit-new\"><\/p>\n<p>The tree stands at over two stories tall<\/p>\n<p> | <\/span><\/small><\/p>\n<p> PA<\/p>\n<p>The selection is usually made in September and the trees are installed in November,\u201d explains Ms Jones. \u201cBy selecting the trees ourselves, we can guarantee we pick healthy ones.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome of the foil decorations we use on the St George\u2019s Hall tree are 50cm or more in diameter, and many of the baubles are larger than footballs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe also use stems of fake foliage of all different colours and textures, sparkling wired branches, snowflake decorations, ribbons, wreaths, garlands and faux fruit.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rebellt-item&#10;        &#10;        &#10;        &#10;        col1\" id=\"rebelltitem12\" data-id=\"12\" data-reload-ads=\"false\" data-is-image=\"False\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.gbnews.com\/royal\/royal-windsor-castle-christmas-tree?rebelltitem=12#rebelltitem12\" data-basename=\"particle-12\" data-post-id=\"2674356179\" data-published-at=\"1764506200\" data-use-pagination=\"False\">\n<p>Windsor Castle became the focal point of the Christmas period for the royals, thanks to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, who resided there in the mid-1800s.<\/p>\n<p><span\/>\u201cThey celebrated Christmas together there and the popularisation of the Christmas tree in Britain is largely due to them,\u201d Ms Jones concluded to The Mirror.<\/p>\n<p>Royal correspondent Katie Nicholl also added: \u201cIt really comes into its own and is just magical for the public at Christmas time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"rebellt-item&#10;
