MUSIC-LOVERS are being invited to the latest live fundraising gig hosted by a popular Northwich hair salon.<\/p>\n
House of Quirk in High Street has held its ‘Christmas Quirkfest’ event for eight years now and in that time has raised thousands of pounds for charity.<\/p>\n
And, on December 7, the salon will be putting on its latest event at the town’s Harlequin Theatre in Queen Street.<\/p>\n
This year the chosen charity is the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, which works to protect and conserve the world’s oceans and marine wildlife.<\/p>\n
Tom Mann, the owner director at House of Quirk, said: “We have been putting the Christmas Quirkfest on for eight years now, with some amazing acts from all over the North.<\/p>\n
“It\u2019s been great to see our customers and the local community get together for a good cause.<\/p>\n
“It\u2019s a busy time of year for everybody so we always appreciate people coming out to support it.<\/p>\n
“We\u2019ve raised thousands of pounds doing them and we hope to raise thousands more.<\/p>\n
“We decided on Sea Shepherd this year as they do amazing work clearing debris from the oceans as well as helping to stop illegal fishing practices.<\/p>\n
“We\u2019re big fans of the critters here at the House.”<\/p>\n
Acts taking to the stage on December 7 will be alternative\/indie musician Run Remedy, singer and guitarist Sean Mack, and singer-songwriter Daniall Lee.<\/p>\n
In the past Christmas Quirkfest has supported charities such as the North West Air Ambulance, Mind, Nordoff and Robbins, CALM and Cancer Research UK among others.<\/p>\n
There is a bar at the theatre and a tombola will also be taking place during the evening.<\/p>\n
