Welcome to \u201cEssentials,\u201d a column for new music recommendations from one lifelong chucklehead with questionable taste. It\u2019s similar to \u201cFuzzy Meadows\u201d except the title makes more sense and we\u2019ve removed the words \u201cbest\u201d and \u201cweekly\u201d. This column will be sporadic, but hopefully worth the wait. Presented as always in glorious<\/em> alphabetical order. <\/p>\n Author\u2019s Note<\/em>: After a decade as the founder and editor of Post-Trash, I\u2019ve been attempting to take a step back from the site, but have so far found myself constantly drawn back in. The compulsion to write about new music (with a primitive vocabulary and an utter lack of literary refinement) is deeply embedded in my ever aging soul. There\u2019s an elegant saying \u201copinions are like assholes\u2026 everyone has one\u201d and it rings true to this column. \u201cEssentials\u201d is but one person\u2019s personal opinion. You might agree, you might not, and well, that\u2019s the internet for you, but I sincerely hope you might find some new music you connect with. Support the bands you love. Spread the word and buy some new music when you can.<\/p>\n This edition of \u201cEssentials\u201d includes a smattering of bands I once had the pleasure of working with, namely Editrix<\/strong>, Pile<\/strong>, and Water From Your Eyes<\/strong>. I don\u2019t include them out of necessity or bias, I include them because I\u2019m very fond of them.
