Sublime are gearing up for an exciting new chapter, with fresh music on the horizon and their first-ever headline tour of Australia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jakob Nowell, son of the late Sublime frontman Bradley Nowell, is leading the band into this next era, promising fans both nostalgia and something entirely new.<\/p>\n

The Australian leg of their comeback includes a headline appearance at Bluesfest 2026<\/a>, alongside additional shows in Sydney and Melbourne \u2014 their first Australian headline shows ever. In a recent interview<\/a> with\u00a0Rolling Stone AU\/NZ<\/em>, Nowell described the project as a \u201cfamily business\u201d, carrying both personal significance and creative motivation.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt feels so utterly special,\u201d he said. \u201cI wish it was my dad who we got to experience these things, but I\u2019m really happy to get to spread the good word of his music out in new and unfamiliar territories,\u201d admitting that Australia has been on his bucket list forever.<\/p>\n

Nowell added that Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh \u2014 Sublime\u2019s original rhythm section \u2014 are itching to finally step on Australian soil. \u201cThey\u2019re more stoked than anybody. The fact that their music is taking us there\u2026 fuck, they couldn\u2019t be more happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alongside the tour, Sublime is preparing to release new material for the first time in years. While the band\u2019s latest single \u201cEnsenada\u201d was not written with the intention of being a leading song, it quickly became a clear sign of their renewed creative spark.<\/p>\n

The new music, Nowell said, will honour the band\u2019s signature ska-punk-reggae sound while introducing fresh influences that reflect their growth as musicians.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a unique audience, truly all ages, and I think people are drawn to a certain genuine quality that people find in Sublime,\u201d he explained. \u201cSo I\u2019m just so eager to share with them the new stuff we\u2019ve been working on\u2026 as long as we keep that authenticity.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
