VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2014 Vicksburg native and rapper SeAndre White, known professionally as Platinum Diesel<\/a>, has signed a deal with Global Music Entertainment.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m ready to show them that I\u2019m worth everything they put behind me,\u201d White said. \u201cIt came at the perfect time, and my team is moving pretty smooth.\u201d<\/p>\n White grew up on the south side of Vicksburg. At 12, he visited his brother in Michigan, where he says he fell in love with music. By 16, he was part of a rap group that produced a local hit titled \u2018Big Dog.\u2019<\/p>\n \u201cI came from the era where we burned CDs and sold them for $5,\u201d White said.<\/p>\n He credits local artists such as Young Nut and Too Crunk as early inspirations. Music always stayed close to him, even through poetry \u2014 he once placed second in a poetry competition at the county library.<\/p>\n That young kid from Vicksburg has now grown into Platinum Diesel, who\u2019s been performing hits such as \u2018Off the Top,\u2019 \u2018Here I Go,\u2019 and \u2018Dip and Vibe.\u2019<\/p>\n
