Sampa The Great<\/a> has returned with a powerful new single called \u2018Can\u2019t Hold Us\u2019. Check it out below.<\/p>\nArriving via Loma Vista, the song marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Zambian musician and rapper, and sees her reimagining Zamrock. In the song, she takes that combination of rock, funk, and African rhythm and puts her own spin on it by introducing elements of hip-hop, poetry, and soul.<\/p>\n
According to the artist, the song comes as a track of awakening, and the new approach to Zamrock is something that she describes as \u2018Nu Zamrock\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cZamrock is my sound. It\u2019s my voice. Being Zambian, being loud, being defiant \u2014 that\u2019s what Zamrock is,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is the declaration track. I\u2019m saying: I\u2019ve stepped into my power, into my sound, into my purpose. I\u2019ve claimed this thing \u2014 Nu Zamrock \u2014 as something of my own, something I\u2019m shaping in real time,\u201d she added. \u201cAnd in this new form, with this much clarity and drive?
