The music legend chatted with Guthrie and Carson Daly<\/a> about her current projects on the NBC morning show\u2019s Monday, December 1, episode. While talking about Season 2 of Happy\u2019s Place<\/em><\/a>, Guthrie referred to McEntire\u2019s costar and fianc\u00e9, Rex Linn<\/a>, as her husband.<\/p>\n \u201cYou also met your husband there,\u201d Guthrie remarked while talking about the sitcom.<\/p>\n McEntire quickly pointed out that Guthrie\u2019s comment was a mistake. \u201cWell, wait. Before everybody has a conniption fit at home, we\u2019re just engaged,\u201d she clarified, going on to joke, \u201cMy family are going, \u2018What? You didn\u2019t tell us?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n McEntire and Linn first met in the 1990s but didn\u2019t start dating until 2020. Though the couple confirmed their engagement<\/a> on the 2025 Emmys red carpet in September, McEntire told People<\/a> in October that she and Linn had secretly been engaged<\/a> since December 2024.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve never been loved by a man like Rex Linn. Rex is a very tender-hearted man, and I just love him with all my heart,\u201d she told the outlet in an interview published on October 21. \u201cHe\u2019s a good guy. Real bashful though.\u201d<\/p>\n NBC<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Linn joined McEntire for her Today<\/em> interview on Monday, as the camera showed the actor standing off to the side in Studio 1A. McEntire went on to gush over working with her partner on Happy\u2019s Place<\/em>, stating, \u201cIt\u2019s a blast. He is a workaholic, and he loves to rehearse. Me, not so much on the rehearsal part. So, he really makes sure that I know my lines and I\u2019m ready to go when we have to have tape day. We have a blast. We\u2019re so grateful and thankful that we get to go to work together, work together, and then go home together.\u201d<\/p>\n McEntire said she\u2019s having just as much fun working with the rest of the Happy\u2019s Place<\/em> cast on the show\u2019s second season, which premiered on NBC last month. The series follows McEntire\u2019s Happy as she discovers she has a younger half-sister (Belissa Escobedo<\/a>) after inheriting her late father\u2019s tavern.<\/p>\n \u201cSeason 2 is so much fun. You know, in Season 1, you kind of get to meshing together and learn each other\u2019s habits and how they want to work, and it was fun,\u201d she told Guthrie and Carson. \u201cSeason 2 is so much more fun now. We know each other. Our crew is the best. We\u2019re having a great time.\u201d<\/p>\n McEntire shared more kind comments for her fellow The Voice<\/a><\/em> Season 28 coaches. \u201cI am having a great time. Michael [Bubl\u00e9]<\/a>, Snoop [Dogg]<\/a>, Niall [Horan]<\/a>, they\u2019re just so much fun to hang out with,\u201d she stated. \u201cThey\u2019re cute as a button, as I always say, and Snoop\u2019s always coming up with something new, so he entertains all of us.\u201d<\/p>\n On top of Happy\u2019s Place<\/em> and The Voice<\/em>, McEntire will host and perform during NBC\u2019s Christmas in Rockefeller Center<\/a><\/em> special<\/a> on Wednesday, December 3. \u201cI\u2019ve never been in New York at Christmastime, so I\u2019m really thrilled about that, and getting everybody together,\u201d she said on Today. \u201cIt\u2019s a joyful, thankful time, and lots of love.
