The full details of the Letters Patent which removed the royal
\ntitles of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has now been revealed.<\/p>\n
The Letters Patent were issued on November 3 2025 and notice of
\nsuch was published in the Gazette but the full text has only now
\ncome to light.<\/p>\n
Although Buckingham Palace\u2019s announcement of the change was made
\nin modern language, the wording of the Letters Patent is very
\ntraditional and leaves no question that the HRH and Prince that
\nonce belonged to the eighth in line to the throne is gone for
\ngood.<\/p>\n
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor also lost his titles of Duke of York,
\nEarl of Inverness and Baron Killyleagh after King Charles asked the
\nLord Chancellor to remove them from the Roll of the Peerage.<\/p>\n

\nyear of Her reign did in exercise of Her Royal Prerogative declare
\nHer Royal Will and Pleasure as to the style and title of Princes
\nand Princesses of the Royal Family\u2026.<\/em><\/p>\n
\nPatent dated the thirtieth day of November in the eighth year of
\nhis reign did in exercise of His Royal Prerogative extend and amend
\nthe said Letters Patent of Her late Majesty Queen Victoria by
\ndeclaring His Royal Will and Pleasure that the children of any
\nSovereign of these realms and the children of the sons of any such
\nSovereign and the eldest living son of the eldest son of the Prince
\nof Wales only should hold and enjoy the style, title or attribute
\nof \u201dRoyal Highness\u201d and the titular dignity of \u201dPrince\u201d or
\n\u201dPrincess\u201d\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n
\nMountbatten-Windsor has been entitled to hold and enjoy the style,
\ntitle or attribute of \u201dRoyal Highness\u201d and the titular dignity of
\nPrince\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n
\nAuthority that the said entitlement should be removed..<\/em><\/p>\n
\nknowledge and mere motion do hereby declare Our Royal Will and
\nPleasure that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor shall no longer be
\nentitled to hold and enjoy the style, title or attribute of \u201dRoyal
\nHighness\u201d and titular dignity of \u201dPrince\u201d. In witness whereof We
\nhave caused these Our Letters to be made Patent Witness Ourself at
\nWestminster the third day of November in the fourth year of our
