Prince Harry<\/a> has written a new heartfelt letter<\/a> to mark the release of the latest report for one of his charities. The Duke of Sussex remains the patron of several organisations, including WellChild, a UK-based charity that supports children with serious illnesses.<\/p>\n Harry still attends the annual awards ceremony in London each year<\/a>, despite stepping down as a working royal back in 2020. In his letter, which was released with the charity\u2019s 2024-2025 report<\/a>, the Duke spoke of the \u201cimmense pressure\u201d that health and social care services face as his charity aims to \u201cprovide a lifeline\u201d.<\/p>\n Harry said he feels humbled as he praised the \u201cextraordinary spirit\u201d of the WellChild community and spoke about meeting the winners at the recent awards ceremony in London.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n He said: \u201c[It is] a moment in my calendar that never fails to bring me so much enjoyment. I am especially proud of the continued growth of WellChild\u2019s Family Tree peer-to-peer support network.<\/p>\n \u201cIn a world that often feels isolating for those caring for children with complex medical needs, the Family Tree offers friendship, advice, and a reminder that no one has to face these challenges alone.\u201d<\/p>\n He added that times are \u201cstill difficult\u201d, there is still \u201cenormous strain on families and the charities,\u201d and thanked the staff and trustees of the charity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The Duke said: \u201cYour part in our story changes lives every day, and I am honoured to stand beside you in this mission.\u201d<\/p>\n The charity announced that last year it trained 6,722 parents, carers and professionals, prevented 16,000 hospital readmissions and helped to get 573 children home from the hospital.<\/p>\n
