Scarlett Johansson<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s first date with her now-husband Colin Jost<\/strong><\/a> didn\u2019t go as expected.<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody had ever asked me out before,\u201d Johansson, 41, recalled of her early relationship with Jost, 43, during her Monday, December 1, appearance on Today With Jenna & Friends<\/em><\/a>. \u201cI was a serial monogamist, and I never got the sort of traditional, like, \u2018Hey, would you like to have dinner sometime?\u2019 \u2026 He actually asked me out on a date.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Black Widow<\/em> star said she and the Saturday Night Live<\/em> comedian \u201cwent to an Italian restaurant in the East Village,\u201d where they had a \u201clovely dinner at, like, 8 p.m.\u201d However, Johansson wasn\u2019t sure what to do with herself when Jost asked her to continue the date at a bar.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfterward, he was like, \u2018I\u2019m meeting friends, let\u2019s go grab a drink,\u2019 and I hadn\u2019t dated basically ever, so I was just like, \u2018I have to go now.\u2019 I need to leave,\u2019\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n

The date ended up only being about 90 minutes long, which confused Johansson\u2019s babysitter for her now 11-year-old daughter, Rose, whom she shares with ex Romain Dauriac<\/strong>. (Johansson later welcomed son Cosmo, now 4, with Jost.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI got home to relieve my babysitter and she was like, \u2018Why are you home?\u2019 and I was like, \u2018I don\u2019t know!\u2019 I just felt so flustered,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n

Jost was also confused by Johansson\u2019s abrupt departure from the date.<\/p>\n

\u201cLater, he was like, \u2018I totally thought that was it. You were acting so weird.\u2019 I panicked. I don\u2019t know,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n

Jost and Johansson first sparked dating rumors<\/a> in May 2017 when they were spotted making out at a New York City bar. Two years later, Johansson\u2019s publicist confirmed to the Associated Press<\/em> that the couple got engaged. The Jurassic World Rebirth<\/em> actress later shared details about Jost\u2019s proposal.<\/p>\n
