Developer promises ‘fun for all ages’ at former Coles River in Swansea<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\nHelio Pacheco, enjoying the evening with his wife and daughters, said he hooked up with the company when the castle was \u201cjust steel beams.\u201d Pacheco painted many of the murals \u2014 and even there, Estrela knew what he wanted. Pacheco gave him multiple sketch ideas, laid them on the floor, and he said Estrela knew exactly which ones would go on which walls.<\/p>\n\n\u201cAnd that\u2019s it. I was out of commission for about a year,\u201d Pacheco said.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\nThe years of work already seem to be paying off. Silver Stone Castle wasn\u2019t intended to be just an arcade and a restaurant, but a Great Wolf Lodge-style family resort, arguably the biggest public attraction Swansea has seen since the mall.<\/p>\n
Estrela has built several function rooms for parties, and he\u2019s already got reservations booked for next year.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis lady in New Hampshire, two years ago she contacted us asking us when we were going to open,\u201d Estrela said. \u201cShe wants to have a medieval wedding. She said she would actually wait until we were done. Sure as hell, she waited and she was the first one to book.\u201d<\/p>\n

As grand as Silver Stone is, Estrela calls it only \u201cPhase 1.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\u201cPhase 2 will be a hotel. It\u2019ll be connected to the building,\u201d Estrela said \u2014 a family resort attraction needs to have space for visiting family to stay.<\/p>\n\nPhase 3, he said, would be a water park connected to both, though he said he isn\u2019t sure he\u2019s got enough acreage, with those plans more nebulous. But the hotel he envisions would be right behind the castle. And a hotel, he said, means more venue space.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve got birthday parties already \u2014 a lot of birthday parties, a couple of weddings,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
When asked how large a hotel he imagines building, Estrela smiled.<\/p>\n
