Luke Combs<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0has been teasing an unreleased song called \u201cGiving Her Away\u201d for several weeks now, and it\u2019s\u00a0an absolute tear jerker of a song told from the perspective of a groom about to marry the love of his life. The song is written like a letter or conversation to her father, as the groom explains he knows that his future wife\u2019s father is her first love, and they have a special bond.<\/p>\n

Combs confirmed not long ago that a new album is coming next year, and he previously told Katie that he had cut\u00a0\u201cover 30 songs\u201d<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>for the record, and if the rest of them are anything like this, I think we\u2019re in for something very special.<\/p>\n

The first verse opens like so:<\/p>\n

That song\u2019s about to play<\/em>

He goes onto acknowledge that everyone\u2019s life is about to change after the wedding, singing poignantly that he \u201cbrought a ring and I\u2019m giving her my name,\u201d while her dad is \u201cgiving her away.\u201d<\/p>\n

He knows how to pull on the heart strings, there\u2019s never been a doubt about that\u2026<\/p>\n

Of course, there are plenty of songs in country music from the perspective of a father giving away his daughter, and many more about a man who is marrying the love of his life, but I\u2019ve never heard one from this perspective from a man to his future father-in-law about their shared love for a woman in their life, and I think it\u2019s absolutely beautiful and something so many people will relate to.<\/p>\n

And the good news is, we don\u2019t have to wait much longer at all to hear it\u2026 Luke shared Instagram that the song will be out everywhere this Friday, December 5th:<\/p>\n
