Shreveport is one of 34 cities in the nation which was awarded a grant from the Levitt Foundation for three years of free music grant.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Shreveport Regional Arts Council applied for the Levitt AMP program grant to bring free live music to Caddo Common Park. Levitt AMP is a multi-year matching grant “bringing the joy of free, live music to small to mid-sized towns and cities,” according to the website.<\/p>\n

The top 50 finalist cities out of 100 semi-finalists were chosen through public voting in September. In an email announcing the grant which was addressed “Dear Friends,” Rebecca Bonnevier, SRAC executive director wrote in part, “You texted, you voted, you spread the word. This grant exists because of you\u2014because Shreveport showed up.”<\/p>\n

The Levitt AMP grant is geared toward places with populations under 250,000. “AMP” is described by the organization as having three goals: “Amplify community pride and a city\u2019s unique character; enrich lives through the power of free, live music; and illustrate the importance of inclusive and vibrant public places.”<\/p>\n

When will the free concerts begin?<\/h3>\n

The grant will bring free, live outdoor concerts to Caddo Common Park in Shreveport Common during the 2026 to 2028 time period, approximately ten concerts per year. In the email, Bonnevier said that SRAC plans to feature diverse, high-quality artists for everyone in the community and that they will announce the artist lineup, performance dates, and full programming details at a press conference in January 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
