It\u2019s my favourite part of any State Visit and it just got
\nsprinkled with Christmas. You can\u2019t beat the behind the scenes
\nreveal of the set up for the State Banquet and this time round,
\nit\u2019s full on festive.<\/p>\n
The Royal Family has taken to sharing snapshots of Queen Camilla
\ninspecting the table settings and flower arrangements ahead of
\nState Banquets now. King Charles comes along, too, but presumably
\nto nod and say yes as all husbands do when the other half is going
\non about home furnishings.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s always a spectacular sight but with hours to go until the
\nState Banquet for the President of Germany, it got even prettier as
\nthis gala dinner is set in St. George\u2019s Hall complete with giant
\nChristmas tree and festive garlands.<\/p>\n
St. George\u2019s Hall, at the heart of Windsor Castle, is a sight to
\nbehold at the best of times. Its ceiling is covered with the crests
\nof Knights of the Garter with a few gaps for those who lost this
\nprestigious honour (no one tell Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor that
\nthis is an actual thing after he was stripped of his membership by
\nKing Charles in recent weeks). However, at Christmas, it is
\nsomething else.<\/p>\n

The banquet table, which will seat around 160 guests, is nestled
\nbeneath the giant tree which is covered in sparkling lights as well
\nas green and gold baubles.<\/p>\n
The huge Nordmann Fir, felled in Windsor Great Park, is decked
\nwith thousands of lights as well as ornaments.<\/p>\n
Around the hall there are also festive garlands, strung from the
\nbalconies beneath the famous vaulted ceiling.<\/p>\n

Queen Camilla has kept the decorations festive. The tables are
\ncovered in arrangements of bright red flowers in golden vases,
\ninterspersed with festive green foliage.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s also a diplomatic nod as red is the one colour shared
\nbetween the two flags of the UK and Germany and might provide a
\nclue to the tiara that The Queen will wear for the State Banquet.
\nHowever, considering her recent decision to shake things up and use
\nthe emerald tiara previously only ever worn in public by Princess
\nEugenie at her wedding, nothing is being counted as certain on the
\njewellery front.<\/p>\n
The guests will be served a meal showcasing seasonal produce
\nsourced at the royal estates and highlighting the best of British
\ncuisine. King Charles also has an admirable wine cellar to head
\ninto to keep glasses topped up.<\/p>\n

The royals were getting into full festive spirit as they started
\nto reveal the details of the State Banquet with Christmas music
\naccompanying the behind the scenes preview which was very much
\nfocused on Queen Camilla.<\/p>\n
Earlier, royal chef Mark Flanagan revealed that The King and
\nQueen will make all the final decisions about the food served at
\nthe banquet.<\/p>\n
The President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, is on a three
\nday State Visit to the UK with his wife, Elke Budenbender. He was
\ngiven an official welcome at Windsor by King Charles and Queen
\nCamilla, with the support of the Prince and Princess of Wales,
\nbefore heading to London for a meeting with Prime Minister, Sir
\nKeir Starmer.<\/p>\n
But the best part of this State Visit has been, without a doubt,
\nthe stunning Christmas show just put on by Queen Camilla and the
\nRoyal Family. It\u2019s a ratings topper for sure.<\/p>\n
