Ashley Cooke has had a busy year. Aside from performances at the Grand Ole Opry, the TODAY Show, WWE Monday Night Raw, and attending the CMA Awards, she also released her latest project, ace<\/em>, a nine-track collection.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

One of the standout songs that fans seemed to notice is the vulnerable \u201cmy worst fear\u201d because of its message.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Ashley Cooke on the Choices She Needed to Make \u00a0\u00a0<\/h2>\n

Upon its release, Cooke\u2019s \u201cmy worst fear\u201d was compared to Kelsea Ballerini\u2019s \u201cI Sit in Parks\u201d and Carly Pearce\u2019s \u201cDream Come True.\u201d All three songs are about the choices and sacrifices women make to pursue their dreams.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In an interview with\u00a0Country Now<\/em><\/a>, Cooke said of the comparison, \u201cI think we all have talked about it quite a bit, me, Carly, and Kelsea. And\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0the beauty of having friends in the industry, because we all want each other to win. And not just for the sake of saying it on an interview, we just genuinely want each other to succeed.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She added, \u201cBut I think all of us in music are just trying to say, we\u2019re\u00a0so thankful for what\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0worked for and the successes that\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0had so far. But there\u2019s also things that we feel like\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0missing. And I think Kelsea\u2019s song, for example, that lyric of, \u2018I wonder if she wants my freedom like I want to be a mother.\u2019\u00a0I think that\u00a0encompasses it so perfectly because\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0not that we\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0love our freedom, and we\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0love the lives that we have and the crazy experiences that we get to have.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

‘We Can\u2019t Have Everything’\u00a0<\/h2>\n

Cooke understands that,\u00a0to\u00a0achieve her goals for her music and career, there are things she must be willing to sacrifice. \u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0more we all kind of want it all. We\u00a0can\u2019t\u00a0have everything,\u201d she explained. \u201cAnd\u00a0so\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0like this emotion of \u2018what am I missing? What am I giving up\u00a0to have\u00a0what I have currently?\u2019 And\u00a0I think that moms\u00a0feel that way, and successful artists feel that way. And\u00a0all across\u00a0the board, we all think about what\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0missing when we have what we have.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
