\n\tSarah Paulson<\/a> brought a Hollywood audience to tears and laughter when sharing a trove of text messages she has received from her late friend Diane Keaton<\/a> through the years.<\/p>\n \n\tDuring The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>\u2018s annual Women in Entertainment gala<\/a> that took place in Los Angeles on Wednesday, the All\u2019s Fair <\/em>star shared the stage <\/a>with another friend and former co-star of Keaton\u2019s, Goldie Hawn<\/a>, to pay tribute to their friend who died on Oct. 11<\/a>, a day that Paulson recalled saw the world lose its collective mind with grief.<\/p>\n \n\tPaulson met Keaton while co-starring with her in the 1999 movie The Other Sister<\/em>, and the American Horror Story <\/em>star shared how the Annie Hall <\/em>and First Wives Club<\/em> icon was a \u201cclass act\u201d who stayed late with her on set to run lines, despite having her then-2-year-old daughter waiting for her at home. <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cShe did ask me, however, if it would mess me up or distract me if she were to take off her costume and get into her street clothes, which I wish I had known would include six pairs of tights, a bowler hat, suspenders, a couple of crinolines and, in her gloved right hand, a massive glass of red wine on ice,\u201d shared Paulson while speaking at the Beverly Hills Hotel\u00a0during the star-studded Hollywood event, which celebrates THR<\/em>\u2018s annual list of the 100 most powerful women in entertainment<\/a>.<\/p>\n \n\tPaulson said she and Keaton became longtime friends after that movie wrapped, and she proceeded to share the below trove of intimate, and hilariously snarky, text messages and emails sent from Keaton over the years.<\/p>\n \n\tPaulson then ended her remarks by sharing a touching email she wishes she could send to Keaton today.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cDear Dum-Dum,\u00a0 I wanna tell you I\u2019m sorry my voicemail was always full. I want to tell you I\u2019m sorry I wasn\u2019t available by the time you called. I want to tell you how much crummier the world is without you in it. I want to tell you everything that happened in my life in the 54 days since you left,\u201d she read. \u201cI want to tell you how the world lost its mind with grief<\/a> the day you died. And I want to tell you, I will miss you forever and I continue to be a moron, and I know that you would be heartened to know that. But most of all, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for being my friend, Sarah Paulson.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe 2025 Women in Entertainment<\/a> gala, presented by Lifetime and hosted by Rachel Sennott<\/a>, also included the presentation of the Equity in Entertainment Award to Jennifer Lopez<\/a>, the Sherry Lansing Award to this week\u2019s cover star, Gwyneth Paltrow<\/a> and a keynote speech by Molly McNearney<\/a>.
