\n\tThe arrival of the 1975<\/a>\u2019s next album \u2014 or maybe even their next two <\/em>albums \u2014 is imminent.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tFrontman Matty Healy<\/a> let a few more details about the band\u2019s next project<\/a> slip while chatting with a fan after doing a Q&A with students at Gateshead College in England yesterday (Dec. 2). In a TikTok<\/a> video, a fan said they approached Healy and asked him about \u201cDOGS\u201d \u2014 the word emblazoned on George Daniels\u2019 drum kit and flashed on the big screen after the 1975\u2019s performance at Glastonbury<\/a> earlier this year.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile the audio is a bit muddled, the fan said Healy confirmed \u201cDOGS\u201d is the name of a new album. You can then hear Healy adding, \u201cWe made two. It might be one, it might be two, but yeah, we\u2019ve made two albums.\u201d (A rep for the 1975 did not immediately return a request for comment and more details.)\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tWhatever form the album takes, it\u2019ll be the 1975\u2019s first release since 2022\u2019s Being Funny in a Foreign Language<\/a><\/em>. After touring extensively in support of the record during 2023 and 2024, the band announced an \u201cindefinite hiatus\u201d<\/a> (not a breakup<\/a>) and played just one concert this year, headlining the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tIn late May, ahead of the Glastonbury performance, the band\u2019s manager, Jamie Oborne, appeared on\u00a0The Money Trench<\/em><\/a>\u00a0<\/em>podcast, and he confirmed that the 1975 was also in the studio. \u201cI don\u2019t know when it will come out, but they\u2019re making one,\u201d he said of the new album, adding: \u201cIt\u2019s already a pretty extraordinary record\u2026 I think they\u2019ve earned the right to take their time. The world\u2019s gonna be listening, so it needs to be right.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tAlong with working on their next album, the 1975 have also been somewhat busy tinkering with their last one. Last month, fans noticed that \u201cHuman Too,\u201d originally track nine on Being Funny in a Foreign Language<\/em>, had been removed from streaming services<\/a>. Healy later confirmed that he decided to remove the song so the album could be \u201cmore how I want it to be.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
