With their latest studio album,\u00a0<em>L.I.F.T.<\/em><strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>set for release on February 27th, 2026,<\/p>\n<p><strong>Neal Morse<\/strong>, <strong>Mike Portnoy<\/strong>, <strong>Eric Gillette<\/strong>, <strong>Bill Hubauer<\/strong>, and <strong>Randy George<\/strong> return with a work that embodies vision, passion, and inspiration. Written and recorded during a period of major transition, <em>L.I.F.T.<\/em> captures the band\u2019s creative chemistry at its most instinctive and inspired.<\/p>\n<p>To coincide with this announcement, the band has launched the first single from the album, and you can watch the video for \u201cFully Alive\u201d<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(directed by <strong>Industrialism Films<\/strong>). Watch it below.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"NMB \u2013 Fully Alive (Single Version) (OFFICIAL VIDEO)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rk-ZJFGbfUo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Conceptually, <em>L.I.F.T.<\/em> stands toe to toe with <strong>NMB<\/strong>\u2019s greatest works, like their much-acclaimed concept album <em>Similitude Of A Dream<\/em>, combining emotional depth with the band\u2019s trademark progressive rock grandeur.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn short, <em>L.I.F.T.<\/em> is a prog concept album that follows the journey of someone seeking to belong to something greater than themselves,\u201d <strong>Morse<\/strong> explains. \u201cIt starts with feeling connected to the world and life, then there is a break in belonging, after which comes the turmoil and desperate cry, leading to a return to that place of profound connection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The album title came late, though its meaning remains intentionally vague. \u201cWe thought it could stand for different things,\u201d says <strong>Randy<\/strong>. \u201cIt\u2019s kind of whatever the listener wants it to be.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>True to the band\u2019s collaborative spirit, <em>L.I.F.T.<\/em> began with the usual whiteboard full of ideas, with columns under each member\u2019s name filled with riffs and snippets. For the first time, <strong>NMB<\/strong> worked entirely outside their familiar recording environment, at <strong>Eric Gillette<\/strong>\u2019s studio in Tulsa, adding a layer of uncertainty to the process. \u201cIt was strange not being in the usual studio,\u201d <strong>George<\/strong> admits. \u201cBut hearing the final mixes, it all came together beautifully.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mixing once again fell to longtime collaborator <strong>Rich Mouser<\/strong>, who has been refining <strong>NMB<\/strong>\u2019s complex sound for years. As <strong>George<\/strong> explains, the band sends him the tracks and lets him work independently: \u201cWe just let him do his thing.\u201d Despite the enormous amount of detail in the arrangements, <strong>Mouser<\/strong> once again delivered a mix where \u201ceverything lives.\u201d The drums, in particular, stand out. <strong>Mouser<\/strong> will experiment by removing or combining elements \u201cto see what it sounds like if this isn\u2019t there.\u201d The result is another brilliant showcase of the band\u2019s trademark sound.<\/p>\n<p><em>L.I.F.T. <\/em>is everything the <strong>NMB<\/strong> fan could hope for and will surely live on in the great canon of the band\u2019s outstanding career as one of their best.<\/p>\n<p>With artwork created by longtime collaborator <strong>Thomas Ewerhard,<\/strong> the <em>L.I.F.T. <\/em>will be available as a Limited 2CD Digipak (incl. instrumental versions), Standard CD Jewelcase, Gatefold 2LP &amp; as Digital Download.
