Music fans who tuned in to Stephen Colbert\u2019s \u201cLate Show\u201d on Tuesday got a treat as Jason Isbell had his first official reunion with the Drive-By Truckers for the first time in 18 years. <\/p>\n
Isbell began his music career with the band back in 2001 and spent six years with the group before departing to go out on his own in 2007. According to Rolling Stone, the singer and his former group performed \u201cHell No, I Ain\u2019t Happy,\u201d off of their 2003 \u201cDecoration Day\u201d album on Colbert. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe have remained friends with Jason, and honestly, he and I are closer now than ever,\u201d Drive-By Truckers\u2019 Patterson Hood said. \u201cI consider Decoration Day to be our masterpiece, and he was such an integral part of that album that it\u2019s wonderful that he\u2019s able to join us in celebrating this release.\u201d<\/p>\n
The \u201cLate Show\u201d shared a clip of the performance on Instagram and fans were loving it. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe need a Decoration Day Anniversary tour with Jason so bad!\u201d one person commented. \u201cThis is so amazing!\u201d<\/p>\n
