MIDLAND, MI \u2013 A popular barbecue spot with two locations in Saginaw and Midland has landed a new space in Midland.<\/p>\n

Big O Burgers & Barbecue, 1900 S. Saginaw Road in Midland, has big plans in store with the expansion.<\/p>\n

Owner Omar Linder said the restaurant went from 1,700 square feet to 4,500 square feet at the new Midland location. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a big blessing. Our lease was coming up, so we didn\u2019t know which way it was gonna go, and then this place came open,\u201d Linder said. \u201cIt was a peaceful process, so I knew it was from God.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Midland location is a full-service restaurant, which differs from the Saginaw location. <\/p>\n

Linder said they are working toward adding a bar to the Midland restaurant next year. And since there is so much more space, Linder also plans to add a stage for live music. <\/p>\n

As for the menu, it\u2019s packed with the classic barbecue favorites, such as ribs, rib tips, chicken, brisket, and of course, the burgers. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s Texas style with a Midwest twist, that\u2019s what I like to say,\u201d Linder said. \u201cWe kind of took bits and pieces from everybody and made our own style.\u201d<\/p>\n

New to the menu is fried catfish, which is offered at both locations, Linder said. <\/p>\n

Keeping with the theme of creating their own style, Big O also offers its own homemade sauce, the signature SWAG sauce.<\/p>\n

Linder said he\u2019s grateful for the support in Midland, as he never imagined owning a restaurant in the area.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s easy to open a restaurant in your hometown because everybody knows you. But to go somewhere else and actually surpass what you\u2019re doing in your hometown\u2019s a blessing,\u201d Linder said. \u201cThey received us with open arms. Every smile, every comment, even criticism, it makes us better.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both locations are open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday.<\/p>\n
